Summary: When using the valentine theme, set up a mailing center for the children.

Description:

This is a wonderful way to engage preschoolers in writing activities.  When using the valentine theme, set up a mailing center for the children.  I usually purchase Valentine cards after the holiday when they are on sale.   Many times they can  be purchased for just pennies!  Place Valentine cards, markers, rubber stamps, stamps from charitable organizations, and a mail box.  We have used the childrens cubbies as mailboxes.   Other times we have used cereal boxes with the ends cut off, and taped together to look like mail slots.  The children delight in making cards for friends and family, then "mailing them in the mail slots.  Please see attached photo for some ideas!  Happy Valentines Day!
